Welcome to SkeptiCamp Lancaster 2025!
Lancaster, PA
October 11th, 2025
What is SkeptiCamp?
SkeptiCamp is a free conference that embraces and encourages scientific skepticism and critical thinking within the community. The day’s content will be created and presented by local and visiting attendees. This event offers an open and accessible
platform for as many members of the Skeptic community as possible. Attendees can learn about science and skepticism, meet fellow skeptics, and visit with friends old and new. SkeptiCamps have been held all over the world. We hope to make this an annual event and grow our community of skeptical thinkers.
What is Skepticism?
There are many definitions of skepticism that might fit for our purposes, but science denial is not one of them. We like this one written by Tim Harley (and found on the NYC 2024 SkeptiCamp webpage): “Skepticism is the intersection of science education and consumer protection. We help people learn from science to avoid spending their money on products and services that
do not work.”
When and where is SkeptiCamp Lancaster 2025?
SkeptiCamp Lancaster 2025 will be held on Saturday October 11, 2025 at Franklin & Marshall College. Check back here later for more detailed directions to find the event on that campus. We also plan on organizing a pre-camp get-together Friday evening and a group activity for Sunday for those who wish to make a weekend of it!
How much does it cost?
SkeptiCamp Lancaster 2025 is a free event. While we’ll accept donations to cover costs, there will be no pressure of a suggested donation when you arrive. (Any Friday evening or Sunday group activities are not included.)
Who can attend?
All are welcome. But please note that the content will be intended for adults and college students. There will be no tickets or reservations – you can just show up. It will be helpful though to have some idea of how many people we’ll have. So feel free to drop
us a note at SkeptiCampLanc2025@gmail.com or use the form below if you are thinking of attending.
Call for speakers!
You do not have to be a published author, podcaster, or professional communicator to present a talk. Talks will generally be between 20 and 40 minutes, but if you want less or more, that’s fine too. Are you an expert in a field with a topic that has a skeptical connection? Do you have a topic of discussion for an open format so you can learn more about it? Something in between? Please write to us at SkeptiCampLanc2025@gmail.com or use the fom below with your ideas for apresentation.
